Here in the Great Lakes state the first glimpses of fall. It seems a little early even for Michigan.
But, none-the-less it is a beautiful time of the year. The leaves are turning colors and people are packing their bags and checking their autos for travel north to view the autumn colors that line the road as if multi-colors of paints were poured down from the sky.
As they travel there will be many stops for food, restrooms and rest. Along the roads in Michigan there are a variety of restaurants or drive-ins. If you are in the mood to try Michigan's trademark of food don't forget to stop for our pasties. If you are going to Mackinaw there are a lot of shops to browse. You won't find any AKA stores but there are many other items for gifts and souvenirs. Be sure to visit the visitor center to find where the main attractions are.
Don't forget to take your umbrellas, warm apparel, travel bags for all your "goodies".
Have fun and safe travels!
