How to Make the Most Out of Christmas This Year
It’s holiday season again and we all are planning how to spend Christmas while snuggled comfortably in our warm cozy blankets. Christmas and New Year’s Eve are probably the most- awaited and enthusiastically celebrated holidays across the globe!
So how can we ensure that we can make the most out of it? Here are 4 things that simply MUST be on your to-do list!
The women reading this probably chuckled at this on because shopping for Christmas decorations and groceries for family dinner is one of the most fun activities of them all! The more effort you put in decorating your house, the more your Christmas spirit will grow. Let your creative side run wild and buy all sorts of Christmas stockings, lights, and gifts for your loved ones!
I felt that I should stress more on this point and thus made a separate heading for it. I can’t express enough about how important buying gifts for your loved ones i.e. family, friends, co- workers, neighbors and so on is. Christmas is all about spreading love. This is the whole reason why Santa is so admired by children.
You don’t have to put too much strain on your pocket of course. You can buy jewelry, decoration pieces, clothes, video games, books or anything you feel that your loved one would like. It’s the sincerity that matters!
Spend Time with Your Loved Ones
Distributing gifts won’t help you spread love alone. Sometimes, your presence becomes even more cherished and appreciated than the gift!
It’s integral that you don’t focus on hanging out with friends only. It's understandable that some friends ‘feel’ like family but Christmas should help you learn the value of your parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and so on who have deeply missed your company and want to develop a
stronger bond with you by creating Christmas memories. Show your love by accepting the tacky looking sweater your grandma made because trust me, she knitted it out of pure love. Give her a hug and show her that you appreciate and value her existence. Help your Mom and Dad (or spouse) with the housework during Christmas Eve. Little things like this will not only help you make the most out of Christmas but will teach you how to be more grateful and content too!
Take many pictures!
Christmas is all about creating memories! We at Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority even sometimes take a stroll around town and take pictures of the beautiful Christmas lights and decorations! But yes, do take as pictures with your family to preserve the precious moments spent by them. Trust me, the value of a moment is much too high to be taken for granted. People often realize this long after the moment and people made moments are gone.
So, these were it! Alpha Kappa Alpha wished you a warm and merry Christmas!
